Creating the long-term business case for cycle infrastructure conference a huge success

Over 40 local authorities and train operators from across the UK attended Cyclehoop’s cycling infrastructure conference, including Transport for London and the Department for Transport.

The conference took place on 31st January and provided presentations on sustainable transport and cycling oriented infrastructure, to local sustainable transport funded (LSTF) authorities. The presentations emphasised on schemes that are financially sustainable and that could be continued when initial funding had run out.

Cyclehoop were fortunate to attract a list of UK and international speakers to give presentations at the conference. The agenda covered current initiatives that local authorities are implementing that are ‘revenue generating’ through funding from the users, the local authority and corporate sponsors.

Topics included:

  • Will cyclists pay to park their bikes?
  • Bike rental: what happens when the money runs out?
  • European guidance applied at home
  • Developing a cycle-rail forum

The conference was a huge success and we had a great response from guests. We hope that there will be a future demand for Cyclehoop conferences.

Please contact us if you would like a full agenda or to be put on the list for our next event.
