    Cyclehoop Cycling Seminar

    Cyclehoop cordially invites you to the UK’s first conference for on street Bikehangars and Parklets.

    Over 500 of our award winning on street Bikehangars are now installed in over half of Central London’s Boroughs. This seminar is ideal if you are trialling Bikehangars already, are considering trialling them, or simply wish to learn more about them and their many benefits.

    Cyclehoop also designed, manufactured and installed the UK’s first on street Parklets, there are now plans to roll out a further eight Parklets across London. Come and listen to feedback from businesses which have had Parklets installed outside, and the positive impact they have had on their companies and the wider community.

    We will have speakers from various Local London authorities who have experience of installing Bikehangars and Parklets on the streets. They will look at and discuss traffic management orders, planning regulations, resident consultations, issues raised, difficulties and how they overcame them.

    We will explain the processes and procedures of installing Bikehangars on the road which include such topics as:

    • Do they need planning
    • Traffic Management Orders
    • How to identify suitable locations
    • Consultation with local residents
    • Responding to negative feedback
    • Management and maintenance services provided under the agreement
    • How they are used for businesses that have no off-street cycle parking
    • What is covered and not covered by the annual fees charged to the cyclists/council
    • Consultation services available to assist in the process

     

    Speakers include:

    Craig Nicol, Cycle Parking Project Manager at Hackney Council and previously Lambeth Council.

    Chris Jubb of London Cycling Campaign.

    Habib Khan, Director at Cyclehoop.

    Nick O’Donell, Assistant Transport Director at Ealing Council.

    15:00   On Street Parklets – A new experience in Urban Renewal

    Ben Addy, London Communities Manager from Sustrans and Kevin Burke, Senior Transport Planner at Hackney Council will talk about their experience at installing the first on street Parklet in the UK.

    Shane Clark, deputy Executive director at Team London Bridge BID will discuss their ‘Fresh Air Squares’ initiative.

    Feedback from buisnesses adjacent to our two Parklets, Josh from ‘The Wash‘ and  Neil from ‘Summer with Monica‘.

     

    15:30  The Bloomsbury Cycle Vault – How to create a cycle hub in the city centre

    Tass Mavrogordato, Chief Executive of Midtown BID talks about the Bloomsbury Cycle Vault: the safest place to lock up your bike in London.
